This rohe map is based on the Area of Interest agreed between Ngāti Pūkenga and the Crown in the Deed of Settlement signed on 7 April 2013. Ngāti Pūkenga Area of Interest from the Deed of Settlement [JPG, 160KB].

➤ This rohe map shows the traditional Ngāti Pūkenga area of interest, but for contemporary issues such as Resource Management Act concerns the area for which Ngāti Pūkenga has a kaitiaki responsibility is much smaller and is largely restricted to the Welcome Bay-Pāpāmoa-Kaituna area. Ngāti Pūkenga also has kaitiaki responsibilities around Maketū. Confirmation should be sought from the iwi authority. Wider kaitiaki concerns such as those associated with the Kaimai Ranges, Tauranga Harbour and offshore waters as well as underground aquifers, are a shared responsibility with the other iwi of Tauranga Moana.
